Messerli Kramer serves individuals and businesses through three unique, yet complementary, divisions. We represent a variety of clients across an array of fields: Banking and Finance, Business Litigation, Corporate Law, Estate Planning, Commercial Real Estate and Family Law. This Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) position will be housed in our renowned Corporate Law group.

Job Description for the Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA):

  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence
  • Prepare record and closing books
  • Assemble and file documents electronically
  • Enter time on behalf of assigned timekeepers, process payment requests, and coordinate the client billing process
  • Maintain client files and contact information
  • Schedule meetings, conference calls and travel arrangements
  • Proactively ensure the legal team is prepared with necessary materials for closings, meetings, etc.
  • Other administrative tasks, as assigned

Position Expectations for the Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA):

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong commitment to client service
  • Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Good planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Excellent administrative/secretarial and proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to problem-solve and use sound judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities with competing deadlines

Requirements for the Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA):

  • 5+ years of legal administrative experience preferred, with experience in transactional (Real Estate/Corporate) strongly preferred
  • Minimum of high school graduation, Business school or related professional legal secretarial degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Proven ability to manage multiple calendars
