Messerli & Kramer would like to contragulate David Oxley, Director of Information Technology, who has been chosen as a 2017 Minnesota Lawyer Unsung Legal Hero.This award is reserved for the state’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals who consistently go above and beyond in their roles for Minnesota law firms.
Dave has over 20 years of experience in the industry, is a Certified Legal Manager (CLM) through the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), and is a long-time, actively involved member and past president of ALAMN (Association of Legal Administrators-Minnesota Chapter).
This year Dave also completed certification as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), which is one of the most sought-after designations for IT professionals. Information security management is an ever-changing environment and is a top priority for all companies. Dave is always motivated to bring the highest quality standards to our firm with respect to audit, control, and security of information systems. He understands the legal industry and knows how to manage and adapt technology to our firm’s needs and requirements.
Since Dave’s arrival at Messerli & Kramer, he has been a tireless worker. Whether hiring and mentoring his team, upgrading systems, improving processes, or simply supporting the firm’s attorneys and user needs, Dave does it with a “firm first” attitude. He takes great pride in ensuring the systems are always working for the firm’s busy attorneys.
“I’ve made a career of providing support and mentoring teams to best support a population of highly intelligent, logical individuals like our attorneys, and I’m well attuned to the deadlines faced and resulting sense of urgency needed when providing customer service to those attorneys,” Dave said when he first joined Messerli & Kramer. Now, looking back more than two years later, it’s easy to see that is truly Dave’s attitude toward fulfilling his duties in the firm. He does whatever is necessary for the betterment of the firm and does it graciously and professionally without requiring praise or recognition. Indeed, that is our definition of an “Unsung Legal Hero.”
Dave will be honored by Minnesota Lawyer at a luncheon on September 7 at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.
