Matthew J. Loven practices in the area of commercial real estate and corporate law having significant experience in real estate transactions, property development, and commercial leasing. As a former municipal attorney, Matthew brings unique insight into working with local and state governments to secure plat approvals, permits, and entitlements. He adds maximum value to transactions by focusing on key client needs and being deadline-driven.  Matthew advises his clients in real estate matters involving: purchase and sale agreements; financing for property acquisition and development; project development, entitlement and permitting; commercial, office and industrial leasing; IRS 1031 exchanges; title review and due diligence; and public zoning, private covenants and other use restrictions.

  • Drafted purchase agreement and ground lease agreement as part of a $50 million hotel acquisition.

  • Assisted in acquisition of a multi-million dollar resort property in northern Minnesota.

  • Assisted in management of national office lease portfolio for large North American insurance company.

  • Documented multiple reverse 1031 exchanges involving construction of multi-million dollar improvements on replacement property.
