Robert G. Maloney

Assistant: Heidi Nelson

Rob Maloney counsels clients on matters related to estate and gift planning; estate and trust administration; business succession planning; asset protection planning; tax planning, preparation, and compliance; and charitable giving. Rob works closely with individuals, business owners, trustees, personal representatives, and other fiduciaries to achieve their objectives in the most tax-efficient manner.

Rob’s clients are diverse in complexity from young couples with few assets who need basic planning, to those with significant assets with wealth transfer considerations requiring more complex planning. He advises clients on a full range of estate planning matters, including the preparation of wills, trusts, health care directives, durable powers of attorney, and related estate-planning documents.

Rob’s unique experience working in a public accounting firm—where he specialized in tax issues related to trusts, estates, gifts, generation-skipping transfers, and income taxes—allows him to help clients understand and navigate the tax laws in order to implement tax-efficient plans that meet their goals. Rob works closely with family-owned business owners to develop strategies and implement plans that address ownership, control, management, family dynamics, retention of key employees, and taxes related to their businesses.

Ultimately, Rob believes clients are looking for solutions to their unique situations, not simply an accurate assessment of legal and tax issues. That is why Rob aims to become every client’s “go-to” lawyer. He listens and cares about clients in a way that allows him to see the business, personal, legal, and tax issues from their point of view so that he can think strategically and creatively about how to help clients achieve their goals.
