Sandy Neren focuses her practice on government relations, representing clients before the Minnesota Legislature, the Governor’s office, state agencies and other government agencies. She works to pass legislation that advances her clients’ interests or blocks proposed legislation that would harm them. Some clients hire Sandy simply to monitor activities that could affect them.
Sandy has experience with a wide range of legislative issues facing her clients including business taxation; commerce, banking, environmental and transportation regulations; alternative energy; government transparency; legal and civil litigation matters; and pensions and elections.
She has also represented clients involving food and hunger funding, wide-scale
revision of workers compensation and civil liability laws, and has assisted a number of non-profits with innovative funding initiatives and governance concerns. Sandy’s pro bono work has included serving as a court appointed guardian ad litem for children and mentoring offenders in the Hennepin County workhouse.
