Stephanie Lamphere focuses on collection litigation and creditors’ remedies, working to maximize the recovery of debts owed to the firm’s clients including a wide range of businesses including national banks, credit unions, debt buyers, and other lenders. Stephanie also focuses her practice in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) defense.
Stephanie joined Messerli Kramer with a dynamic background in civil litigation, criminal law and government administration. Stephanie attended Pepperdine Law School in Malibu, California, where she completed an externship with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in the Compton Branch and also clerked for a premier insurance defense law firm in southern California. During law school, Stephanie also completed a federal judicial externship with the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan in the Northern District of Illinois. While at Pepperdine, Stephanie was elected Co-Captain of the nationally ranked Moot Court Competition Team. She led the team to Regional and International Championship titles in 2013 and 2014. Stephanie competed in Washington D.C., San Diego, Chicago, and Hong Kong, among other locations, and was inducted into the national Order of Barristers as a result of her successes in domestic and international competition.
Upon graduation from Pepperdine, Stephanie returned to Minnesota, where she worked as the lead staff member for the Mining and Outdoor Recreation Policy Committee at the Minnesota House of Representatives and transitioned into private practice in 2016.
