ST. PAUL – Messerli Kramer is pleased to announce that Bailey Strand has joined its Government Affairs team. Strand has worked as a staffer in the Minnesota Senate for the past six years, first as a Legislative Assistant and then as lead staff for the Health and Human Services Finance and Policy Committee.
“Bailey has deep knowledge of the legislative process, strong ties to policy makers, and proven experience getting legislation across the finish line,” said Patrick Hynes, Chair of Government Affairs. “Adding her to our team is a tremendous opportunity for our firm and our clients.”
Working in a divided government throughout her entire tenure in the legislature, Bailey formed strong relationships on both sides of the aisle, culminating in the passage of several health and human services omnibus bills into state law. As the key Senate healthcare policy staffer during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bailey worked with Minnesota executive branch officials to pass emergency response aid in a timely manner, benefitting countless Minnesotans.
“The Health and Human Services Committee covers a wide range of subject areas touching nearly every part of humanity,” said former Committee Chair and Senator Michelle Benson. “Ms. Strand was adept at facing each subject and delivering forward-looking, actionable proposals, and serving the health committee during a global pandemic speaks volumes to her limitless potential as a lobbyist.”
As part of the government relations group, Strand will continue Messerli Kramer’s legacy of providing unmatched client services for many of Minnesota’s most well-known brands and organizations.
“I’m excited to join one of the premier lobbying teams in Minnesota,” said Strand. “I look forward to working with clients to positively shape public policy for Minnesotans. I am grateful for my experience working in the Minnesota Senate and am excited for the next chapter.”
With one of the leading government relations practices in Minnesota, Messerli Kramer has represented clients at the Capitol for over four decades.
“They have an outstanding record of delivering results for clients,” said Josh Hasko, Messerli Kramer’s President. “Bailey’s expertise in health and human services issues, deep relationships with legislators, and track record of solving difficult policy problems will make their exceptional team even better.”
