Tony Barthel solves business problems. Whether it’s a deal that needs to be closed or a land use problem that needs to be fixed, Tony works with his clients through every stage of a deal, protecting their interests and advancing their objectives. As the chair of the Firm’s Corporate Group and the Real Estate Group, Tony leads a talented team of attorneys and advisors in a variety of transactions, and he serves as outside general counsel for a number of lower- and middle-market businesses and commercial real estate operations.
As a real estate attorney, Tony focuses his practice on representing clients in the purchase, sale, financing and leasing of commercial properties, and he also assists in solving land use, environmental and property development project issues.
As a corporate attorney, Tony advises on a wide range of business matters, including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, corporate governance, and buy-side and sell-side agreements. He helps clients navigate complex business transactions and overcome practical and legal hurdles, providing advice that helps his clients navigate relationships and drive strategic initiatives.
Outside of his practice, Tony is involved in philanthropic activities that provide and advocate for the most vulnerable and keeping and restoring wild places.
