Craig Sondag joined Messerli Kramer after 17 years at the Capitol, where he served as Chief of Staff to the Senate Republicans during both majority and minority control, working alongside three different caucus leaders. Craig’s public service began in the Minnesota Senate in 2003, as a research policy expert to the Transportation and State and Local Government committees. In this role, he advised legislators and helped develop legislation impacting the state’s transportation system, state agencies, and municipalities.
Between his two tenures at the Minnesota Senate, he worked as Government Relations Manager for Allianz Life, a wholly owned subsidiary of the world’s largest insurer, Allianz SE. Here, he advanced the company’s public policy priorities at both the state and federal levels through bipartisan engagement. This included hosting some of the company’s largest distribution partners for Capitol Hill meetings with their respective Congressional delegations. Craig holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The University of Minnesota.
