Minnesota Lawyer named attorney Nancy Haas among its Up and Coming Attorneys for 2012. Haas, who serves on our Government Relations team in St. Paul, was honored for her lobbying efforts and representation of Minnesota law enforcement as well as advocacy for the fair and impartial election of judges.
Through her work at the 2011-2012 Minnesota State Legislative sessions, Haas was instrumental in leading a law enforcement coalition to oppose a bill called the “Castle Doctrine,” helping Minnesota sustain stronger protections for citizens and law enforcement in Minnesota.
Haas recently acquired training to become a licensed eligible peace officer. She serves as legal counsel to the St. Paul Police Federation Political Action Committee. She also has served on the St. Paul Police Foundation board for five years. For the past two years, she’s chaired the Foundation’s annual fundraising gala — helping to raise almost $350,000 for grants to the St. Paul Police Department for training and equipment.
The Up & Coming Attorney recognition includes lawyers within their first 10 years of practice who have already distinguished themselves by their achievements. The criteria for selection are: professional accomplishment, leadership service to the community and the profession or achievement as in-house counsel. Haas was honored at a Minnesota Lawyer awards banquet in September 2012.
