Messerli Kramer is pleased to announce that two distinguished family law attorneys, Daniel J. Van Loh and Colleen Case, have joined the firm, in addition to paralegal Heidi Nelson. Their arrival marks a significant expansion of Messerli Kramer’s Family Law group in addition to creating a presence in conflict resolution with Van Loh’s 18+ years of Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) experience.
Van Loh and Case come from Capistrant Van Loh, P.A., a respected family-law firm in Minneapolis from which they bring with them deep experience, a strong reputation in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and a client-centric approach to family law. Joining them is their paralegal, Heidi Nelson, who plays an integral role in providing exceptional client service.

Van Loh is a seasoned family law attorney and ADR provider. He is a Rule 114 qualified family law neutral who is in high demand as a family law ADR provider. Van Loh currently serves on the Minnesota Supreme Court ADR Ethics Board, has consistently earned peer recognition through both Super Lawyers® and Best Lawyers in America®, and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).

Case joined Capistrant Van Loh in early 2021, after working for Van Loh and serving as a clerk for a Hennepin County Family Court Referee. She holds a J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Minnesota. She was recently recognized as a 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America®. She will focus her practice on family law at MK.
