Daniel (Dan) Lenhardt is an associate in Messerli Kramer’s Corporate practice, where he advises private equity funds, venture funds, portfolio companies, and other strategic and financial buyers and sellers on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and a broad range of general corporate matters. He partners with clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, delivering practical, business-focused counsel that advances their objectives while effectively managing legal risk.
Drawing on experience in both private practice and as in-house counsel, Dan understands the intersection of business goals and legal strategy. Prior to joining Messerli Kramer, he was a Senior Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice Group at Fredrikson & Byron. Before returning to private practice, he spent five years as Associate General Counsel at UnitedHealth Group, where he served as lead in-house counsel on mergers and acquisitions and advised business leaders on complex strategic transactions. Earlier in his career, Dan was a Corporate Associate at Dorsey & Whitney.
Known for his practical, solutions-oriented approach, Dan supports clients’ business and transactional needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner, helping them navigate complex transactions with confidence.
Outside of his client work, Dan is committed to pro bono service. He has represented individuals and families seeking asylum and has advised startup companies on a variety of business and corporate matters.
