The Savage Pacer recently published “Cities weigh in as MPCA narrows options for Burnsville landfill clean-up” which features attorney Dan Schleck, who represents the landfill owners, sharing comments on the potential solutions slated for the project.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (“MPCA”) predicts a clean-up, via either a dig-and-line or dig-and-haul scenario, will be necessary to avoid groundwater contamination near the current sites of the Freeway Landfill and Freeway Dump in Burnsville. “We would like the MCPA to designate this as a dig-and-haul project to be completed by the three private parties,” Schleck said on the subject. Several surrounding cities also weighed in on the issue.
